AI Voice Generator Pricing Compared (Per Minute)
Entry plans of ElevenLabs, Murf and MCV Labs compared by price per minute of speech, free-plan limits and commercial use — dated, with the caveats that matter.

Every AI voice tool counts differently — characters, credits, seconds or hours — which makes headline prices hard to compare. This guide converts entry plans to a rough price per minute of speech. Figures were read from each company's own pricing page on 6 November 2026 and will change, so check the pages before you buy.
How we converted to minutes
Spoken narration runs at about 150 words, or roughly 1,000 characters, a minute. Where a plan is sold in characters or credits at about one per character, we divided by 1,000. Where a company states minutes or hours, we used their figure. Real use varies with the voice, the language and the settings.
Entry paid plans, per minute
- ElevenLabs Starter: US$6 a month for 30,000 credits (about 30 minutes) with a commercial licence — roughly US$0.20 a minute.
- Murf Creator: US$29 a month, or US$19 a month billed yearly, for 2 hours of voice generation a month with commercial rights — roughly US$0.24 a minute monthly, US$0.16 yearly.
- MCV Labs Starter: US$3.99 a month (prices shown in your currency) for 25,000 normal credits plus 5,000 premium credits — about 30 minutes in total, roughly US$0.13 a minute, with commercial use.
Look at which voices the minutes buy. On MCV Labs Starter, most of the allowance is for normal voices; premium voices have their own, smaller allowance (about 5 minutes). Compare the voices you will actually use.
Free plans
- ElevenLabs Free: 10,000 credits a month (about 10 minutes), no card, non-commercial use with attribution.
- Murf Free: 10 minutes of voice generation, no card, no downloads and no commercial rights.
- MCV Labs Free: a monthly credit allowance for personal use, MP3 downloads and no card.
What a per-minute price leaves out
- Voice quality and languages: listen to the same script in each tool — the cheapest minute is worthless if the voice doesn't fit.
- Features: integrations, team seats, APIs and security certifications differ. Murf lists integrations and certifications; MCV Labs lists API access and team workspaces as coming soon.
- Billing: some plans renew automatically. MCV Labs plans are prepaid and never renew automatically.
- Currency and tax: competitors we checked showed US dollars; MCV Labs shows fixed prices in INR, USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, SGD and AED where offered.
How to choose
- Write down how many minutes you publish a month.
- Test the same script on each free plan.
- Shortlist the voices that fit, then compare the plan that covers your minutes — including commercial use if you publish for money.
- Start monthly; switch to yearly once your usage is steady.
